22nd Annual Branson Old Time Fiddle Contest This Weekend!


The Ozark Mountain area is well known for it's traditional Ozarks style music. More famous is the Ozark's fiddler playing tunes that make everyone's feet tap to the beat of the fiddle's rhythm.



Now you can join in on the festive fiddlin' fun here in Branson at the Branson Landing as the Downtown Branson Main Street Association presents the 22nd Annual Old Time Fiddle Contest on Saturday, August 28th and 29th with a special concert by Big Smith on Friday night August 27th at 8:00 PM.



Branson Old Time Fiddle Contest competition will be in five divisions including Pee Wee - Ages nine and younger, Junior - Ages 10 through 16, Senior - Ages 60 and older, an Open Category as well as a Cross Tuning category and a Seconding category (guitar/bass accompaniment) with over $5000 in prizes to be awarded!
Admission is FREE for all performances! The Fiddle Festival competitions will be held from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 28th. Sunday, August 29th will begin with a special Sunday Morning Gospel Service, followed by the Finals scheduled to take place from Noon to 5:00 PM. The music begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday and will continue into the evening – start back up on Sunday and close around 5pm in the evening. The contestants and performers will be playing the various styles of traditional music that early settlers brought with them to the Ozarks.
