Throughout the Christmas festival the entire park is transformed into a breathtaking holiday Wonderland with over four million lights, 1,000 Christmas Trees and festive holiday decorations!

Since its debut, Silver Dollar City's An Old Time Christmas has become one of the nation's most recognized events for spectacular lighting and world class entertainment. Profiled as one of the countries top Chirstmas holiday celebrations by USA Today, CNN Travel, The Travel Channel and Good Morning America! The festival features dazzling elements throughout the 100 acre Christmas theme park.

Returning for this year’s Old Time Christmas, Silver Dollar City presents an elaborate Holiday Light Parade, which weaves through the streets of the City each evening, the largest and most exciting Christmas addition since the five-story tree first lit up the Square. Emblazed in colorful lights, floats proclaiming the gifts of Christmas glide around the park in a parade of imaginative fun, from The Little Engine That Could to Santa’s Toy Shop. The Holiday Light Parade, presented twice each evening, is in addition to the park’s four million lights creating a visual extravaganza during An Old Time Christmas.

New this year is It’s a Wonderful Life, adapted from the Frank Capra classic, presents a new, musical interpretation of the inspirational story that is a world-wide Christmas favorite, voted the #1 “Inspirational Film of All Time” by the American Film Institute.“It’s a Wonderful Life is real Americana, a story many people already love, but our production takes the audience through it in unexpected ways,” said writer/producer Brad Schroeder, Silver Dollar City’s Director of Entertainment and Events. “Telling this classic story with music adds a new connection, making it even more emotional and impactful.” The show also features unique special effects and a talented cast of 14 singer/actors.

Due to popular demand also returning this year is A Dickens’ Christmas Carol, a new adaptation of the famous classic by Charles Dickens, is Silver Dollar City’s biggest show ever, with elaborate sets, an impressive cast, and two flying systems for stunning visual effects. Special effects include vanishing ghosts, revolving scenery, pyrotechnic special effects and scenic projections. The production presents the heart-warming Christmas story in more light-hearted fashion than the original, with a wisecracking Ghost of Christmas Past and a musical emphasis.

An Old Time Christmas festival also features Silver Dollar City’s five-story Special Effects Christmas Tree glittering with over 200,000 lights located on the Square. The tree's light shows are each evening starting at 5:30 PM and feature light shows every 15 minutes. Additional shows include a musical presentation of the Living Nativity and the interactive Christmas show Frosty that invites visiting children to help bring the legendary snowman to life!

Silver Dollar City rides and attractions such as The Steam Train, Tom Sawyer's Playground, Grandfather's Mansion, Geyser Gulch, Huck's Treehouse, Fire in the Hole, Wildfire, Thunderation and Marvel Cave will be open, weather permitting. The Rolloer Coasters are affected by the temperature and may not be open if the temperature drops below 42 degrees.

Traditional Tastes of the holiday season will be found throughout the park as we serve up seasonal favorites such as Cranberry Chicken, Turkey and Gravy with Cran-Apple Raisin Dressing, Pit-Style Ham with Black Cherry Sauce and more! Other festive holiday treats include old-fashioned Chocolate and Marshmallow S’Mores, Gingerbread Cookies, Grilled Pretzels, Pumpkin Pie, Apple Dumplings with Cinnamon Ice Cream and Hot Wassail!
